Moon Maiden

Oh lovely Maiden of the Moon
What strange powers do you posses?
For in your different phases, you surrender,
Or may steal away my happiness.

Dearest Lunar Lady . . . .
When you are dark and new,
I feel your grief has its grip on me,
And I am filled with darkness too.

Then gradually as
You wax into the light.
I am thrilled once again to
Enjoy your beauty bright.

When you fill the evening sky
With your shining silver light,
You may draw shy lovers into a kiss,
Or cause two foe's to fight!

This poem is an older poem, I thought I would share because it will be a full moon
tomorrow.

Moods of the moon. Hauntingly beautiful poetry you have penned for us to ponder. I want to thank you for your comment on my poem Pegasus, The Winged Steed, a mythological story. This is a new found interest of mine and a source of endless inspiration, timeless stories of Gods and Hereos.....

It's too good and very beautiful. The Moon shines very sweetly not only when it is full moon but it remains shining in the poem entirely. Thanks and many thanks for your precious comments on The Boatman's Songs up to part 6 and then you jumped from 6 to 17 suddenly. You have missed the most beautiful conflict of Urveshi in between. I will read your other poem as well Ravindra
