Moon and Night

There was a battle
Between darkness and light
The moon and the night
As hard as it fought
Night was no match
The stars glowered in envy
Eclipsed by her outreaching glow
For the moon reigned over all
As if a lighthouse
Hung in the heavens
Shedding her light
To guide lost souls
