Moon
Hello, old moon, my longtime friend
Here we are, just you and me.
As always, I am lifted up
Deep into your depths again
As if you watch my troubled world
And come each night to soothe my soul
Tonight I come to you again
To make our long acquaintance new
The world's off balance, I am too
Yet, you are steadfast, as a friend
In sorrow of my darkest hour
You warm my face like midnight sun
You comfort me and soon I know
I'll always have a place to come
You always seem to hear my pain
When no one else can understand
I know you well enough by now
A secret's safe in your good hands
Hello, old moon, my longtime friend
Here we are, just you and me.
As always, I am lifted up
Deep into your depths again
As if you watch my troubled world
And come each night to soothe my soul
