Monumentum

This is actually a song I wrote. I know this site is supposed to be for poetry but I felt compelled to share it with you all. You'll see that part of it is the same as one of my other poems, that poem inspired this song.

To many times
In to many places
Memories combine
With to many faces

There was a time
When I was young
And everything
Was beautiful
Now it feels
Like I've lived
A thousand years
Those memories
Are gone
I have loved
A thousand lives
And lost
A thousand more
I have lived
With an empty heart
The enemy once more
Memories
From the days of old
Corrupt my very dreams
The things I've done
And things I've lost
Are memories obscene
My thoughts have turned
To darkness now
The light begins to fade
The things that haunt
My very dreams
The world has turned away
Cuz there are

To many times
In to many places
Where memories combine
With to many faces

Blood has been
Lost from me
I've numbed
My very soul
Theres nothing here
But my own pain
The shadows
Carry on
I've cursed the name
Of the one above
Was brought down
To my knees
Where darkness fell
I was reborn
A savage
Hate indeed
I brought myself
Up off the ground
And tried to carry on
But everything
Tries to pull me down
Back upon the ground
And there are

To many times
In to many places
Where memories combine
With to many faces

The memories
Are growing dim
The truth
Becomes obscured
When nothing
Holds it close
To heart
It is replaced by fear
Theres pain
In even the smallest tear
When love is never shown
In darkness grows
The saddest light
Of heartbreak still held dear
Sometimes it feels
Like its taking hold
And death is looming near
When there is nothing
In this world
That you still hold dear
What is this feeling
Deep inside
That brings itself to light
This emptiness
Inside my heart
Will bring
Misery and strife
And there are

To many times
In to many places
Where memories combine
With to many faces

There was a time
When I was young
And everything
