Notes About The Poem

Month of My Heart

Month of my Heart
The month of March holds a place in my heart On a lovely spring day love came my way Forever loving sweethearts from the start. Spring brings magic o'er nature's world of art Trees blossom, pretty flowers bloom and sway The month of March holds a place in my heart. I look in your eyes and I still see stars In the mirror of my soul to this day Forever loving sweethearts from the start. Dawn’s chorus of birds as a new day starts Fledglings on wings coming out on display The month of March holds a place in my heart. The song love put in my heart tops all charts A refrain on continuous replay Forever loving sweethearts from the start. Though years have flown we’re still one of two halves Since those magic moments of yesterday Forever loving sweethearts from the start The month of March holds a place in my heart.

After reading your 'stoner' poem, it occurred to me that I may not have ever read your poems. I have TBI so I'm not sure, but I don't think we have crossed paths. I wished to check out your 1st poem. Your pen is smooth and creative. Villanelle's aren't easy for many people, I enjoy writing them (well, all 3 of them) and I very much enjoyed the flow and rhymes coming together so smoothy in this poem. Beautiful

Dear CayCay thank you very much. It’s so nice when one’s first poem is read, it brings back the feeling of excitement having somewhere to display poems that are out there for the world to see. Blessings, Beryl

Beryl, it’s another march and I’m hoping the good feelings are still going strong. It is an interesting time watching things come out of hibernation.

Thank you Silent One, it’s good fun to try writing different forms of poetry, though, as you say, it’s not always easy. Belle

Belle, You make a good case for March being a favorite month: the beginning of love, and the renewal of nature. You tackled a challenging poetic form with gusto and aplomb. Welcome to Poetry Soup, I hope you find it a place of mutual encouragement and support. ~ John
