Monsters Ball

Take my hand now, come with me
 Our chariot awaits
To deliver us with pomp and style
 Beyond the palace gates

Through the doors and further yet
 We find the Gilded Hall
 Behold! A spectacle awaits
 It's called the Monsters Ball

A grotesque waltz is underway
 The music scored with fear
 The banquet table empty So
We dine on pain and tears

No promises of fairy tales
 No happy ever after
Just an honest search for happiness
 And passion mixed with laughter

I've too much life beneath my feet
 and will be forever light
 And just enough lived wrongly
To know how to live it right

What fate has brought us to this place?
 Our destiny, it seems
To share our wounds and bind and soothe
 Our torn and tattered dreams

Be bold enough to trust me
As we seize this gifted chance
Just hold my hand and love me
While we watch our demons dance
