Monster

A monster lies within us all
It brings us down trapped and bound unable to break the fall
It feeds on weaker minds brings pain and tears to weary eyes
Then comes the silence that pierces through the night
It roars the loudest at the end of every lonesome hour
It holds half the heart a quarter of the mind
The only way to clear away its wicked ways is to walk through your mind
And obliterate all fears and leave the broken pieces behind
