Monster

My reflection
So frightening at times
For I don’t recognize
Who I am seeing
In the mirror
A monster
Seething with rage
Who wants vengeanace
Created by my King
Who ruled unjustly
Causing me to revolt
In an angry fury

Inner torment
Stiring within
My desire to be loved
Conflicting with my need
To protect myself from your venom
Refusing to be a casualty
Of your manipulation any longer
My naivety dwindled
As my pain intensified
The smell of death around me
Caused my love for you to turn sour
An iron gate surrounds my heart
So in my weakness
You can’t penetrate through my vulnerability
Scarring me further
Making this beast grow more diabolical
Than it already is
