Monomaniac
I walk where evening folds its weary wing,
Where silence trains the stone to dream of spring,
And every breath I borrow from the air
Feels like a vow my blood forgot to swear.
Time threads my shadow through reluctant light,
And teaches dust the grammar of the night.
I carry hours like a sealed decree,
The quiet proof of our fragility.
The city leans in towers made of glare,
Its stairways keep the scent of vanished prayer.
Each door remembers hands that knocked in fear,
Each wall still listens for what isn’t here.
Neon confesses sins it cannot drown,
Rain stitches halos to the restless town.
The pavement hums with pulses muted, low,
And windows keep the faces we outgrow.
We chase a light that does not know our face,
We trade our days for mirrors without place.
We bow to clocks that bless us into dust,
Then learn too late the lexicon of mistrust.
What calls from deep is not the voice of need,
But homes we lost before we learned to bleed,
A God who hides inside unfinished sound
And waits within the questions we have found.
We wear our wounds like scriptures carved in flame,
Each scar a psalm that trembles with our name.
Our grief does not reduce our living core,
It widens us to hold a deeper door.
From soil of doubt a nameless courage grows,
Not hope, but something older that still knows
How just to breathe, to stand, to slowly be
Inside the dark that sharpens what we see.
I sit with shadow, patient, face to face,
It knows my depth, my undisclosed place.
It tells me life is not a debt to pay,
But holy dust that still remembers clay.
We walk as temples never carved in stone,
Through nights that ache with stars we’ve never known,
Each soul a spark the darkness dares to claim,
Held in the weight of being and its flame.
Each word we speak becomes a fragile thread,
A trembling bridge between the quick and dead.
Our laughter, faint yet fierce against the dark,
Is music rising from a hidden spark.
The wind remembers every distant place
Where sorrow shaped the angles of our face.
We carry ghosts like lanterns through the night,
And what we’ve lost becomes our only light.
We find in ruins patterns yet unseen,
A sacred geometry beneath the sheen.
Each fracture, every loss, a kind of art,
A constellation carved upon the heart.
The stars lean close to teach us how to rise,
The world persists beyond our questioning eyes.
And in each quiet moment, we become
The sum of all we’ve lost and overcome.
We are unfinished, yet complete in pain,
A fragile song that will not sing in vain.
Through shadows, light, and every hidden seam,
We find the shape of being in our dream.
Beneath the quiet, under layered skies,
The earth remembers every unheard sigh.
We speak in tones the air cannot sustain,
Yet leave behind the music of our pain.
The night becomes a mirror to our loss,
Reflecting all the roads we could not cross.
Yet even in its cold and patient gaze,
A hint of grace illuminates the haze.
We walk with questions older than the moon,
Our hearts attuned to some forgotten tune.
Each step a hymn, each breath a fragile verse,
A testament to blessing and to curse.
And when the morning finds the sky undone,
We see that loss and wonder merge as one.
Each shadow teaches light to recognize
The truth of what endures, the hidden prize.
We rise, we fall, we stumble through the flame,
We learn to bear our sorrow without shame.
The weight of being presses, yet refines,
And carves the sacred spaces of our minds.
So let us walk through all the dark and rain,
Through empty streets that echo with our pain.
For in this weight, this trembling, mortal space,
We touch eternity in our human place.
