Money - a Means Or End In Itself

Running after money, without any rest
You don't pause, your life lacks zest
Desiring to earn more, always in a hurry
You lead a life of stress, ever full of worry

You spend your life earning money
that too without enjoying, it's funny
Insatiable mind always wants more
Moment you stop, it deplores

Ego says prove you are great
and your life you devastate
Earning endlessly, you become old
Can no longer use the money you hold

When body is old, when you become fragile
Your money will be squandered by agile
Watching helplessly, you I'll sit and ponder
Why I didn't enjoy? you will surely wonder

To survive, you must verily earn
But you hoard money, you merely earn
Remember, there is life beyond money
Happiness is what you should aim for honey

Well expressed. It’s ironic that on American money it says “In God We Trust.”

Lot of irony abounds around. Our life a big irony. I didn't know American money says that. Thanks for the information and your wonderful comments. Take care, God bless!
