Mon Ami
I needed a friend
but knew not what it was;
indeed had never known.
Needed a lesson,
required a teacher
to show, instruct.
She stood on my toes
which were in her way
that day -
damned if I knew why
because I was wined ?
Come and tell me who
understands just what it is.
Period.
