Mommy Dearest

Mommy dearest,
You are always there for me.
We fight all the time, which may turn ugly.
but even when we stand,
Across from each other
Both of us in tears,
Both of us holding our own,
I know that I love you.
I know I never tell you this....
But hey, come to think of it...
It's implied!
After all, you are my mommy dearest...
I know the things I say
Are utter gibberish to you.
The things I believe in
Makes no sense to you.
But looking past our difference I'd opinion,
You are one in a million,
A sweet angel from heaven above.
Mommy dearest,
the beautiful one,
who looks 21 at age undisclosed
Admiring glances still follow you around
As I walk in your shadow..
even that is beautiful.
Mommy dearest,
You may not know this,
But I truly do respect you,
Everytime my fiery nature
Wins out your gentle soul.
Even though we are like fire and ice...
I do can't imagine a world
That doesn't have you,
Meddling in my life,
Yelling at me,
Caring for me...
Mommy dearest....
I love you.

Top marks go your way for this lovely and sincere poem in free verse addressed to your mum, Angie! I am sure that your mother loves you a lot, too, even though you two do not always see eye to eye. The mother & daughter avatar is very expressive! // paul

It sounds like your relationship is tempestuous but it's so nice that you still love her. Yes, she cares for you very much! I wish my daugther enjoyed me looking young but it got her kind of angry when people mistook her and me for sisters. haha. (wish it could stay that way forever!)

Hi Angie, sometimes my son thinks I'm his worst enemy. But, at the end of everyday. HE gives me a hug, tells me he can't be without me. This is nice to read. Hey, sometimes we can't help but show how much we care, by interfering... Cheers SKAT
