Mommy

Mommy gave Joey a new toy, (saying) 'Play nicely and share with the boys' But Joey was selfish, he didn't share His friends went home; Joey didn't play fair Mom talked to Joey - in her voice, only love But Joey wasn't the 'peacefulest dove' Once again, he kept the toy all for himself So Mom took it away, put it high on the shelf Joey moaned and he cried, and then wept some more First Mommy counted the minutes, then she couldn't keep score He said, 'Mommy, you're mean, and I really hate you' 'You don't hear my cries; you and I are now through...' Well, time went by, and Joey repented And wonder of wonders, 'Bad Mommy' relented Joey got his toy back, and this time he shared ~ Which shows you what a Mommy can do when she cares

As Judy suggested, tough love is key. Take my son for instance... yesterday I caught him kissing a girl so I sent him to his room until he says he understands love and respect. He’ll have to comply... they’re due to get married tomorrow. ;-) Terry

Tough love is so very important. Without it the child will never learn the important lessons of life. Number one being that for everything we do and say there s always a price to be paid. Excellent Gershon. God Bless, JB

You got it, Judy. (And methinks you've always had it too). :) gw

Oh yes! We must be tough sometimes. Why make everyone else suffer so your child can have peace when you can put peace in your child’s character! Blessings, dear friend! Profound!

Hi Gershon, I can relate to this write very much. I'm sure it tugged at the mother's heart when little Joey acted that way, however, if she would've stood firm, he wouldn't have learned his lesson. I liked this a lot well done:-) Alexis

Good insight, Gershon. Yes, children do play those little games, but it is hard not to give in... I am the worst of them all.
