Moment of Truth

One day I looked at you
And it occurred to me
How beautiful your smile was
How truthful your words
How soothing your laughter
How inescapable your gaze
A veil was pulled back
Revealing a blinding crescendo
Of stars and awe
That moment I tried to tell myself
I wasn’t in love
Was the moment
I realized I was
