Notes About The Poem

I envy authors for whom English is their native or official language (former colonies). For me, as a Slovak, it is not easy to translate the emotions of poems into English. From today, my neighbors' daughter, who studied English, helps me. She translates novels and guides tourists around Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Together we also edit poems that I have already published.

moment of transience

once in the dead night
while serving in the army
I had a visit...
a silent bat was flying
around me for my pleasure
