Moment of Beauty
A moment of beauty passed me by
Softly and with subtle
Silence.
Hoping to elude me.
But my heart felt it,
And I turned toward it,
So my eye could see.
It lighted near me,
Feeling the need nearby.
Beauty is lonely too,
In a world of empty souls,
Empty faces, deaf ears -
Ethical structure to rue.
A moment such as this is lost.
To oceans of noise and fear.
Grasping hands - greedy bodies
leaping over the cool water,
Into the flames of passion -
Beauty knows.
