Mom, If You Come and See

Mom, If You Come and See!
----------------------------------------
Mom, if you come and see--
We are together, but
Dad....!
Married some scary, quarrelsome woman --after you.
And the cruel creature ,day in and day out --
sprinkled salt on the open wounds.
He's sitting with her, there,
(in harsh winters, flowery summers, and on Eid)
Some 60 kilometres away,
Have built a separate house.

If you bring it all into God's notice ...
At His nearby Heaven-house,
And He allows you a day's leave !
And then, if you come and teach them a lesson
About us-- your princely boys....!

If you come and see...!
Your chubby grandson
is dusting, kissing and hugging your big photo
In frame on the window shelf ;
And calls you 'daadi'! --
Whenever we visit my reading room in the old house.
