Mom

I shut my ears
I close my eyes
No longer do I hear
I no longer wish to

Your word anger me
They fill me with hate

Why does it?
They are not poison

Is it your tone
Or my independence?

I know not
I know nothing

Can I not leave?
No, you provide

Will you stop?
No, I don't tell

I lie
I smile
You cannot suspect it

I feel you
Not for long

Soon I'll crack
I'll spill my soul

I can't contain

Take my heart
Rip it through
I need it no more

I cry dry tears
I shout silently

You can't help
I won’t let you

Leave me be
Keep your distance
Don't harm me
Don't touch me

Let me lie
Like a dog
Like dirt
