Mom

Mom, you were the one
I called when I wanted to run
Away when it was too overwhelming to stay
In your presence I found comfort and acceptance
Willing to listen and help me through the distance
Now the lessons you taught me will forever glisten
In my mind, through all my life’s endeavors
Mom, our times together I will cherish forever
