Modest

7/21/17

I got to be honest
And modest
I didn't always follow through on every promise

During times of peace and conflict
Some of what I said and did, made others vomit
Oh well can't win and please them all, I've understood and got it

Just trying to better myself
Obtaining more wealth
With or without help

Not always doing things that benefit my health
Whether it was done out in the open or with stealth
Near and far from any kelp

You may or may not have been able to relate to how I felt
Regardless of if similar or different cards were dealt
I got my fair share of bruises and welts

Far away from the asteroid belt
And anywhere else
