Paul, I saw a mockingbird like this after a day and a half of rain pouring down. It looked as if it had just come out of its nests and was thinking about maybe food or water or maybe thank goodness freedom. I have felt that same way with the freedom part. Thanks for the visit. Sara

I did wonder what it was thinking that afternoon when it stopped raining. I was wondering if it was trying to decide if it was hugry or needing to escape the nest for a few minutes or just what was it contemplating. Sara

Kim, It had rained, sprinkled, or poured off and on all day the day before and part of that day with it finally clearing a little. I think it was trying to decide what it needed to do the most, eat, drink, or fly around a little. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Sara, I do love the mockingbirds as they "contemplate" sound so they can repeat it. One summer I kept hearing an alarm clock. Finally figured out it was a mockingbird!!! They are delightful clowns of sound. Thanks for elevating this marvelous bird in your haiku! Blessings.

Sam, I guess that mockingbird felt that the alarm clock was a winner and just kept on using it. LOL..Around here they mostly use the same calls all the time but I have no idea what they mean. Thanks for dropping by. Sara
