Mockingbird, you sing to me each morn
And throughout the day since you were born.
You alone can understand the words
Imitating frogs and other birds.
You perch high on my bushes or trees,
A graceful hymn you laud through the breeze.
Insects in the Summer you indulge,
Berries in Winter with pending bulge.
Gray back with white wing bars, pale gray-white
Belly, long legs and tail, lithe in flight.
