Mockingbird, you sing to me each morn And throughout the day since you were born. You alone can understand the words Imitating frogs and other birds. You perch high on my bushes or trees, A graceful hymn you laud through the breeze. Insects in the Summer you indulge, Berries in Winter with pending bulge. Gray back with white wing bars, pale gray-white Belly, long legs and tail, lithe in flight. 7/11/2020 Poetry Contest: Bird Sponsored By: Constance La France

A great entry, Eve! I do love mockingbirds from afar, but I've been pecked too many times to get too close. They can be quite aggressive. Blessings, Rhonda xx

Great poem Eve, we don't have mocking birds in South Africa, but they are beautiful, clever and I believe can mimic people. Well penned my friend. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.
