Sara B, That Mockingbird was so pitiful out there trying to get some water that I pushed myself to go out and pour hot water on the ice and melt it. It would have thawed later but I thought some early birds might need a drink. Sara K

That will be a wonderful sight. In our place, the mocking bird will never get such a chance. Great haiku dear Sara.

Valsa, the mockingbirds here are feisty birds that seem to be strong. I have seen them chase a snake across the yard diving down and pecking it. They will also defend themselves and their area the same way. So don't mess with one. Sara K

Kim, he was out there trying his best to get some water and I think he finally broke the ice and got a couple of sips. I ran some hot water and went out and poured hot water on both baths and thawed it. Thanks for stopping by . Sara k

Why, thank you, and Andrea. I looked out the kitchen window, and one was on the frozen birdbath pecking away trying to get some water and I think it did get some. I took some hot water and went out there and poured it on the frozen birdbath so they could drink. Sara K
