Moaning All the Way

The rain is not wet enough,
the sunshine not warm.

He goes out to do
a little moody grocery shopping.

People are driving too fast
or too slow.
The shop shelves
are bare of what he needs,
though he does not know
what he needs.

He considers ending it all
at the candy aisle,
instead, whoops gleefully -

there are jelly beans!

This is an exquisite little write, Eric. I didn't foresee the ending, but I was delighted by it. Thanks for sharing this.

It's the little things, like the sunk putt on the 18th after breaking 100 that make it all worthwhile after all...
