Insecurities come and go…while the wicked wind do blow
I guess I had to let you know that I’m not the only one all aglow
Misunderstood in many ways, many ways
Wishing and praying for brighter days
I hear your footsteps upon the ground
Misunderstood, it’s doing me no good
I hear the echoes of your voice while I’m gravity-bound
In chains of where I stood long ago in the lonely neighborhood
Misunderstood in many, many ways
It’s one of those bizarre, crazy days
Understand that I’m in this neighborhood
To do you good…to do you good…are you okay like you should?
Misunderstood in many, many ways
It’s one of those bizarre days and it preys
Upon my mindset of doubt and faith once more
I still love you to the core, love you to the core
But you misunderstood me in many, many ways
Many, many ways…many, many ways
I hear your footsteps upon the ground

Upon me while I’m in regret, below here kneeling
I’m praying for the pain to leave my side
Abide by my side and never subside, subside

Upon the sunrays of yesterday’s tomorrow
Upon the gay feeling of evaporating sorrow
It preys upon my distress and I want to let it all go
