Misty Meadow

As the sunlight first glows warm
Shining beneath the amber clouds
The mist lays gently on the meadow
A peaceful blanket for the earth.

The birds waken to feed their young
The owls close their eyes for rest
The shafts of grass begin to sway
As wind picks up to kiss the mist.

Although it lingers for but a while
It has given moisture to the plant
And a peaceful picture for us to see
Calming the soul as we begin the day.

Thanks Chris, believe it or not, this was one of my earliest poems last year before I began to learn more about rhyming and formatting. My journey has been 22 months in the process and there is so much more to learn. Thanks for the kind words. Betty
