Notes About The Poem

"Summer Garden in Springfield, Missouri)

MISSOURI DAYS

Days
drifted,
dust-gold bright,
bare feet skimming
the warm summer roads.

Fireflies stitched twilight’s hem,
porch swings creaked their lullabies,
and Grandma’s voice—soft as corn silk~
called us home through the hush of evening,
where childhood kept its lantern lit for years.
