Mississippi River Glow

Sumac burns bluffside
White Pelicans unfurl flight
River fog cloaks me

The spirits of Mark Twain, Huckleberry Finn and steamboats haunt the awesome "Mississippi River Glow," James. Love the reference to being cloacked by fog as the pelicans fly overhead. Great work, Jim! Love, Carolyn

What a lovely read, I feel as though for a moment I was transported away from the dull surroundings of my desk to the surreal atmosphere of the Mississippi River. ~KC~

I haven't seen white pelicans only the brown colored ones. I bet they are beauties that is unless they ride over your windshield with a fully stomach. I love the color of sumac in the fall the red is so great. Keep writing. Sara
