MISSING YOU
(For my parents, and parents-in-law)
By Leon Enriquez

The Angel of Death has come today
To take your beautiful soul away
Our mortal hearts are broken with tears
For you ascended from us my dear

We feel our loss this moment in time
As we reflect on past happy chimes
When laughter and good cheer cast spells
Your wit and kindness and humour tells

~~~~~~~~~
A simple soul with a lovely heart
We will miss your empathy and art
Lavish grace and show of timely care
The kind thoughtful fare beyond compare
Your legacy and blessings remain
On this we lean and our loss contain
You are the reason for our good health
A story beyond our timeless wealth
~~~~~~~~~

In you our special friend we miss most
Sadly, you have given up your ghost
Your earthly days are over right now
Still, your fond memory does endow

Winging on your safe homebound journey
Bless us all with a token lovely
Inspire in our hearts devotion deep
To pray in the heart’s temple for keeps

~~~~~~~~~
Gone too soon as footfalls slip away
Dearly departed from us today
We pray your soul enters paradise
To be with those who gain love’s grand prize
By the columbarium garden wall
Your earthly ashes here we install
Your picture portrait stares at our world
Even as our loss flings tears that swirl
~~~~~~~~~

Our humble mortality a gift
As heart and soul and mind thus uplift
To walk the path to eternity
When we meet love again most truly

With your departure from time and space
We miss your countenance and embrace
Pray for us from the other shore, to be
To live full zest our daily journey

~~~~~~~~~
