Missing You

He was the embodiment of love
And he was mine
Never knowing that one day
Heaven would beckon him

It's been two years and grief
Still clothes my body every day
I've tried to carry on remembering him
In fond and celebratory memories
Yet, I can't shake the fact that
I miss my best friend
I miss my father

I am thankful for what you've taught me
I am grateful for the legacy you've left me
Although, I am here without you
I know that we shall meet someday
