Missing Pair

Been one
For a long time
Never have one

Grown up
Secretly needs one
Not just having it
Opportunity to cherish it
Something special

Despite ignoring it
Bury it deep inside my chest
It gets louder and louder

Every lovebirds come by
I can only dream
Smiling to myself
Imagining that for me

Glancing around
As if it is coming to me
Right now

Foolish me
Just a fantasy
Costly to maintain
Fragile to touch
In this modern world

Wishing time slows down
Actually looking at each other
By the eyes
Intertwining hands
All sorts of good physical embraces

Not running around
Money collecting
Fit schedules to just make time
See and go

Horrible thing to do
For love
Especially after all
That waiting
To make it happen

At least they have one
I have none

I can do is to dream
Building my hopes up
Ignoring my fears
That it does not come true for me

Closing my eyes
Swinging my legs
Waiting for the one to show up
Sweeping me
Off my feet

Beautiful poem, very relatable. I love the last to lines of hope "Waiting for the one the one show up, sweeping me, off my feet."
