Notes About The Poem

----

A Sam Scott poem:

Listen to poem:

Missing Colour

We're black and white again

I must admit I miss the coloured rain
Of your presence
Tumbling down over whatever protection I chose
Unavoidable
Enthralling
Beautiful

It feels like the rainbow has emptied
The skies are back to grey
Monochrome

No more puddles to splash in
No more joyful reflections
Of the people we could be
We briefly were
Carefree

I miss the abandon
The wondering where we could go
In the fantastic coloured rain
Imagining

I hold a strange yet absent hope
Of multi-coloured joy
The dreaming of freedom
Perhaps dreams can still
Be in colour
After all

Dreams can still be in color, i feel and sense the hope flowing through your lines amidst all the grey and disappointment in life, emptiness. I love how you’ve written that so well , especially “ i miss the colored rain” “ rainbow has emptied” “ strange yet absent hope” so creative how you express: loved this
