Miss Fay’s Day

Forgot I set the alarm today
Went outside to play

911 was called without delay
Sheriff came to take me away

But, but...I live here I say
Well, prove it Miss Fay!

With a wink and a sway
I said come this way!

And to my dismay,
He decided to stay!

Hi there!! Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm in my 60's and have never written poetry; always felt there were too many rules. I do love words and imagery. One of your members invited me to take a chance and write something. So, after the Sheriff left (and no I did not invite him to stay - LOL - that was just fantasy) I sat down and took a stab at creating some poetry. Miss Fay was my first and was a lot of fun so wrote a couple more. So far, I've posted everything I wrote that day. My favorite is Sweet Soul ... about my little mini schnauzer who is going blind and it's hard on both of us. Hope I continue to tap into my creative side. Well, I'm off to explore this place and will start with reading some of your poems. Take care, Sassy
