Miss
Where that one strength's afford was thee
and I had felt a purpose free.
Now feeling from away, recede
as when consenting longs to be.
I felt away but ever near
because you wanted my appear.
Each going's entry still was clear
tomorrow's gain was ever, dear!
A burden to be farther for
I ventured not, but held thy floor
as when new love is but explore
some searching's merit still restore!
I tried beyond my own exhort
and wanted of thy heart to court.
Now still, beyond that time before
I miss and want thee, more and more!
