Misery's Company

She hates to be alone, therefore, she loves my name She beckons me once and twice the same For she enjoys my presence, she loves the pain The rapture she feels when she calls my name The source of my tragedy Unaware of her strategy, her tactics slew me While my ignorance soothes her My lack of knowing proves her- Victorious once more, her love for me grows sore But still, she beckons, my love for her reckons Can’t protect them, my feelings For now they’re seduced by one Misery her name And she loves my company There’s no one to save me, no one with sympathy Until the one comes, she and I are alone For I am misery’s company, She’s waiting for me to come home
