Miserable Fool
Miserable Fool
What naïve fool hath said, "Love is blind?"
Who dared barter his kingdom for a horse?
Who lays paint to his face to conceal a farce?
Tis only the foolish jester with a juggled mind.
Why doth a desperate man search and seek,
whilst he masks his countenance with a pout?
Tis the fool in hiding, "One way in and no way out."
No escape from dungeons where men grow weak.
Miserable fool, tis only on himself he must lay blame.
With naught to offer a foul wench nor fair morsel.
He's squandered his soul, not few parts but parcel.
Grant reproach, or return to dust from whence you came.
