Miranda get a life seize the day

¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ Miranda wakes,
Feels the sun ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
¦¦¦ unwilling step ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦
Shuddering to the mirror.

¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ Miranda's sight
Is old and gray and dirty;
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦
This morning she is thirty.

Shining ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ star,
¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ twilight shining,
Haunted ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Miranda is a-pining.

Silly ¦¦¦¦¦ silver girl,
Draw ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦ toward you;
Time ¦¦¦ makes the years to whirl
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ he adored you.

¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ timelessness for you;
Calendars ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦
¦¦¦¦¦¦ a year, or thirty, to
Loveliness made woman?

¦¦¦ Night will not see thirty again,
¦¦¦ soft ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ Miranda;
Pick up your glass ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦
How old is Spring, Miranda?

A moving choice of words in your blackout Dorothy... I feel the insecurity of this lady coming through in this poem. I feel like she is afraid to love/be loved. But the message of seizing the day reminds me that opportunities come and go. If we choose not to seize the day, we may miss out and regret it. In whatever form that seizing of the day takes place.... a very thought provoking piece with excellent selection of blackouts ♥️✨️🦋☺️

A striking blackout poem that reshapes Nash’s playful wit into something tenderer and more uneasy. The broken visual field beautifully conveys Miranda’s fragmented self-perception, while the recurring address to her gives the poem an intimate, almost incantatory quality. “How old is Spring, Miranda?” is a particularly lovely closing question—gentle, philosophical, and quietly hopeful.
