Notes About The Poem

Mind Tricks

when shelves are bare,
Old Mother Hubbard…
when bread, butter and eggs
only find themselves
on a politician’s spread,
will we still believe
what the Jedi says?

Hi Kim, people are returning from the Christmas holidays in the thousands and filling up pantries and fridges, children returning to school etc. Therefore supermarkets, stationery shops and shops that sell school uniforms, their shelves will be somewhat empty, but fill up soon again I'm sure, hope I'm somewhat right in my interpretation of your write. Great poetry. Hugs, blessings, Jennifer.

An attempt of political justification by some, doesn't change the reality of what's at hand. An excellent inquiry, with humor on the side! Nicely done!!ab

Not fixed on any particular one just the direction we are going in. We can pretend but it will come our way. Hoping people get back to work and we see violence fall and shelves and lives back in order.

I can't remember what the Jedi said, but I sure like your poem, Kim.

The Jedi would make people say and believe what he said. Thanks, sweet lady! I don’t know if you are finding bare shelves but we are. Disconcerting.
