MIND EYES
I look at the world
With sleepy eyes, half awake, half asleep
And this is what I see:
A small urban village
Of many races
Where every home is fenced
Guarded like a quarantined home.
I check with my mind
And this is what I find:
Emotions coated in hatred
A lonely soul shielded by selfishness
Then I realize
The change I seek
Begins here
In my
own mind.
