Mind and Body In Sync
As the sun ends its journey at the end of day
In my cozy little corner of the world
When darkness rolls in and long shadows grow short
Wide awake as the noon day, I become
When sun flowers fall asleep among cool green grass
Tiny fireflies light their torches
Illuminating garden sanctuaries
This is when I find, all tasks at hand,
Seem less daunting and easier to tackle
As the kitchen light’s turned off,
My mental switch turns on
In my bed, my favorite chair, or sometimes
At the desk, I am free, relaxed,
I travel destinations, far and near
With no interferences, no traffic stops, I write
Poems, lyrics, just random thoughts
From deep within heart and mind
While some end their toil at sun light’s fading
And lie down bodies worn and weary
My mind comes alive, free from distractions
Mind and body are totally in sync
