Milton

. "ice crystals on grass glistening like pure gemstones dawn winking at morning"... An excerpt from "Ice Crystals on grass" by L. Milton Hankins A poem composed of three haikus. I chose this haiku to show that Milton could write such beauty when he chose. Milton was so kind to me; I will miss him. generous poet shared feelings straight from the heart softly closed the door

Ann, a very heartwarming tribute to Milton. He left us with the goodness and grace of his powerful words….but there seems to be a darkness since he “softly closed the door”.

Maybe he had an illness he didn't want people to know about and, perhaps, pity him. I don't know that to be true, but it sounds like Milton.
