Milton

.                        "ice crystals on grass
                  glistening like pure gemstones
                     dawn winking at morning"...
An excerpt from "Ice Crystals on grass" by L. Milton Hankins
A poem composed of three haikus. I chose this haiku to show that Milton could write such beauty when he chose. Milton was so kind to me; I will miss him.                    

                            generous poet
         shared feelings straight from the heart
                       softly closed the door

He left us with the goodness and grace of his powerful words….but there seems to be a darkness since he “softly closed the door”. Ann Peck April 20, 2023 at 9:47 AM Maybe he had an illness he didn't want people to know about and, perhaps, pity him. I don't know that to be true, but it sounds like Milton.
