Millie and Billy Visit the Zoo-Nursery Rhyme

Millie and Billy were only five years old
but didn't always do what they were told.
Mom and Dad took them to visit the zoo
Millie wore a pink hat, and Billie's was blue

Mom said, "Children, we must stay together,
and wear a raincoat in case of rainy weather."
Millie whispered in Billy's ear until he giggled
and danced in circles, wobbled and wiggled.

They fed striped zebra and watched seals swim.
Had lunch under a tree and climbed on a limb.
They rode the little train that encircled the park,
neither aware that it was now cloudy and dark.

They both laughed at elephants having a bath
but didn't notice they were on the wrong path
because Mom and Dad were nowhere in sight.
Millie took Billy's hand and held it real tight.

They heard thunder louder than the lion's roar
and then suddenly a cold rain started to pour.
They were soaking wet without their raincoats
and huddled together near a pen of baby goats.

Someone was calling them with a familiar voice
Millie and Billy knew they'd made a bad choice
by wandering too far off from Mom and Dad.
They were all together and everyone was glad.

Good nursery rhymes need these little cautionary tales embedded, children take notice, and get the moral pretty quick, you crafted this one so well Jenna, with just the right amount of fun and danger, another winner methinks, cheers David
