Milk

MILK

                    milk like lit candle
               ascending
          the dark victorian stairs
     ethereal
ascension of an angel

liquid
     coats the throat of intended
          beams
of light shoot out through her eyes

               spiritual
          duet of contradiction
     darkness
and innocence meet in stare

penetrating
     deep into each other’s soul
          diluting

the contrast of dark and light
     shadows
that keep them apart

Congrats on the win Kim. Particularly enjoyed the imagery on the positioning of the lines. :)

Wow! Creatively brilliant poetry, Kim. The thoughts elevate and descend w/each passing phrase. A mind bender is what we free thinkers love always to experience. A joy to read this stellar write. Love always.
