Military Bound (My Sons)

Tears floating just inside my eyes
I'm trying to hold them back
My son moved home long enough
For me to help him pack

This Sunday is the day
He will leave once again
Travel to some unknown place
More training to begin

Alaska is base for another
He's on 48 hour drills
He still calls home when he can
His picture on my window sills

One more will
Leave in a week
Wife and my grandchildren left behind
Iraq is what they all seek.

These three sons
Chose to fight for what they believe
Please grant safe passage
It's the silence I will grieve
