Miles Apart

My senses swam dizzy as clouds, I faced her wrath though it bite as a sword, It pealed through my brain like a muffled bell, And racked my ears like an explosion of steam-whistles. I'm in my mud house dreaming about who we used to be, When love was all that we had, Now, there's such a difference between us, And a million miles, Loving you again is as futile as to oppose an earthquake with argument. Restless, sore and haughty feelings were busy within, So she must've called a thousand times, To tell me she's so sorry for breaking my heart, But when she called, I never seem to answer. Like a festooned girdle encircling the waist of a bride, I weaved my dreams and trust around her, But she messed it up because I had nothing to my name, And I have forgiven and forgotten her but we would forever remain miles apart.
