Migrating Birds Carry My Verses

I have entrusted my verses to migrating birds,
Their wings carry my words across vast miles.
Last winter, they faltered on their journey to you,
My cherished avian companions met a grim fate,
Innocent lives claimed by ruthless hunters.

Yet, my friends bequeathed my verses to the wind,
And the breeze bore them toward your distant abode.
You, in your solitude, sensed an unexplained sorrow,
A melancholy shroud enveloping your soul, a mystery,
A sadness hidden even from your own understanding.

You fled to the desolate expanse of the desert,
A wilderness where your grief lay concealed,
A secret sorrow known only to the shifting sands,
Your pain buried deep, unknown even to yourself.

I beseech the winter skies to guard my poems,
May they safely bear my melodies to your ear.
Let their song brighten your soul, dispelling winter's gloom,
Envelop yourself in my verses, my love, and find love anew.

When my feathered comrades return, bearing your touch,
My heart shall bear the burden of melancholy.
For I shall keep my verses locked within my soul's vault,
Allowing no other to graze their sacred pasture,
Except for you, my dearest, for my poems are your fidelity.

I implore the birds to reach you safely this winter,
To serenade you with my words,
Listen, and banish the chill of winter's melancholy.
Kiss my verses as if they were a warm, familiar touch.

Listen, cast away your winter's shroud of gloom,
Kiss my poems, and my feathered comrades
Shall return your tender touch to my soul.
Now, it's my turn to harbor sorrow's weight,
I'll keep my verses veiled from the world's eye
For nothing shall caress these words but you, my dearest,
My poems are an oath of fidelity to you.
