Notes About The Poem
Karen Jones' December Days

Midwinter's Cheer - DD

Midwinter glides with buoyant ease
Where song birds twit a mellow note,
A hymn for chapter's last reprise
That graces flurry leaves afloat :
December whorls its amber lace
Endowing quiet as blooms cloak
The lanes , our sills... in night's embrace
When trails of garlands' chill evoke
A season's zest though boughs droop low
As moonshine blesses our hearth's reign,
Immersed in cheer...where all things flow
Warmth of kin soothes my breath, my gain.

I shall but hold this Cycle's blast
And let its timeless glory last!
