Midnight Walk
The midnight air, so calm and peaceful,
draws me into it's black abyss.
The twinkling stars shine high above,
and the crickets sing down below.
The distant sound of a car's tires on the road,
or the howl of a coyote in the woods,
breaks the serene song of the crickets.
The slight breeze sends shivers down my spine.
The sounds of nature are all around me,
as I walk along these dotted yellow lines.
In the middle of the road,
safe from any traffic.
A midnight walk is my favourite calming sensation.
How still and quiet the world is at midnight is quite amazing.
It almost makes you realize that no matter how much bad there is in the world,
if you just go for a walk at midnight you will see all the good and forget all the bad.
All it takes is a midnight walk to clear you mind,
and set your soul free from worry.
Just a simple midnight walk.
