Midnight Thoughts On a Failed Marriage

How can you hear something stop?
How do you know when it’s over?

We were once lovers
Friends

I gazed at his sleeping face

And looked into my heart
I saw grey shadows of silence
Floating in the emptiness

That was when I realized
I had to leave
‘Lest I completely disappear

i hope your future is/was better. I walked into several similar situations until I gave up. My 'love' now is a cat. Plus wonderful grandchildren. And I'm finally learning to honor myself. KJ

Reminds me of a Cary Simon song which I believe was called "I'ts too late Baby" It was also about a failed relationship. It is not easy to find a soulmate and you show clearly how one can be mistaken. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

Ah ha! Got help and can now reply to your kind comment. Thanks. I love Carly Simon. I love Love. With all my experience with it, I think my soulmate must be on the other side. Maybe we'll get together in the next life. Unless he digs old chicks...
