Midnight Tears

People look but they don't see,
Hiding behind a smile, hiding me,
Hidden secrets, hidden truths,
Telling someone our mind it soothes,
Yet we keep it, yet we hide,
All our emotions amplified.

Running from our deepest fears,
Coping with life through 'Midnight tears',
No one to help, no one to hear,
Everyone's close but don't let them near,
The closer they get the more comes out,
Telling things no one knows about.

Keep it in till there are no ears,
Then cry out those 'Midnight tears',
Shatter the glass, let out a scream,
As you close your eyes and drift off to dream.
